Help with product issues
We’re sorry your heat it® isn’t working as expected. Before contacting us, we recommend checking the following:
- Carefully clean the charging socket (e.g. with a toothpick)
- Install the latest app version
- Enable OTG (only for isolated Android smartphones from e.g. OnePlus, OPPO or VIVO)
Your problem still persists? Then contact our support team via the help section integrated in the app.

Returns
We’re sorry heat it® wasn’t quite right for you and that you’d like to return it.
For a refund, simply return your heat it® to us within the 100-day return period . If there is a defect or something similar in the first 2 years after purchase, we will cover the shipping costs or send you a replacement product (Just heat it® Guarantee). In this case, contact us via the contact form.

Guarantee & test period
With the extended right of return of 100 days, you can put heat it® through its paces without risk. heat it® should be your reliable companion in every situation in life. However, if a defect should occur, our 2-year guarantee applies in addition to the statutory warranty.
Shipping & Delivery
We ship all orders ourselves from our location in Karlsruhe, Germany. Deliveries are made from Monday to Saturday by our shipping partners DHL, DPD and Deutsche Post. You can find more information about shipping costs and delivery times here.
Address changes or cancellations: Please contact us as soon as possible using the contact form below. If your order has not yet been shipped, we can usually make the requested change without any issues. If it has already been dispatched, we’ll find an individual solution for you.
Processing time before shipping: Please allow us a little time to prepare your order for dispatch. We usually ship orders by the following morning at the latest on working days. During periods of very high order volumes, this may take a little longer.
Order hasn’t arrived: Please check the tracking information to see whether the parcel has been left with a neighbour or at a collection point. If this is not the case, or if the shipping status has not changed for 3 days, please contact us using the contact form below.
Compatibility with Android
If you use an Android smartphone, you’ll need the USB-C version of heat it®. On some smartphones, such as certain models from OnePlus, OPPO or VIVO, the “OTG” function must be enabled manually (explanatory video).
This version is also compatible with newer iPhones featuring a USB-C port.
Compatibility with iPhone 6s - 14
If you use an iPhone 6s–14, including iPhone SE, you’ll need the Lightning version of heat it®. Apple MFi certification ensures reliable performance and a high level of safety.
Please note: For technical reasons, the Lightning version of heat it® cannot be used with an adapter on a USB-C iPhone (15, 16 or 17).
Compatibility with iPhone 15, 16, 17
If you use an iPhone 15, 16 or 17, including Plus, Pro, Pro Max and Air models, you’ll need the USB-C version of heat it®. This version is also compatible with Android smartphones.
Apple MFi certification ensures reliable performance and a high level of safety.
Compatibility with Tablets / iPads
heat it® and the accompanying app were developed specifically for smartphones and are not optimised for tablets. Using heat it® with a smartphone is also much easier and more convenient.
The Android version of heat it® can still be used with an Android tablet.
For technical and regulatory reasons, heat it® cannot be used with an iPad, whether it has a Lightning or USB-C port.
Compatibility with smartphone cases
We comply with the USB-C and Lightning specifications for clearance around the charging port. Almost all smartphone case manufacturers do the same, so heat it® can usually be plugged in without removing the case. The rare exception is particularly bulky outdoor cases.
Frequently asked questions
When do I use heat it®?
heat it® can be used for all kinds of insect bites and stings, including those from mosquitoes, horseflies, bees and wasps. Whether you use heat it® straight away or later on, it can help relieve the symptoms effectively. When used immediately, symptoms can often be prevented altogether.
How hot does heat it® get?
heat it® classic & pro: Depending on the app settings, the treatment temperature can be set between 47°C and 52°C. You can choose a treatment duration of 4, 7 or 9 seconds (short, medium or long). Combined, these settings offer a total of 12 intensity levels.
heat it® unplug: Using the five-level dial, the treatment temperature can be set between 47°C and 51°C, with treatment times ranging from 4 to 8 seconds.
Is the treatment painful?
Whether the treatment feels painful or uncomfortable varies from person to person. As the skin’s sensitivity to heat differs between individuals and across different areas of the body, heat it® offers a range of treatment settings. For safe and effective use, please note the following:
Only a mild heat sensation is needed for an effective treatment. If you experience severe pain, stop the treatment. When using heat it® for the first time, select the lowest setting. The same applies when treating an area of the body you have not used it on before. Please refer to the instructions for use for detailed information.
What should I pay attention to?
heat it® may be used on children from the age of 3. From the age of 12, children may use heat it® themselves.
heat it® is designed exclusively for use on external skin. The device must not be used inside body openings, on mucous membranes, gums, nail beds, eyes, the outer ear canal or broken skin.
Before treating a bee sting, the stinger must first be removed. heat it® is not suitable for treating allergic reactions or tick bites.
Please follow the instructions for use. Improper use may cause minor burns.
How much battery does heat it® use?
heat it® classic & pro: With a fully charged smartphone, up to 1,000 treatments are possible at the highest setting. A sophisticated safety system helps protect both your smartphone and its battery.
heat it® unplug: This model has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be charged using a standard USB-C cable. A full charge provides up to 1,000 treatments.
How does the principle work?
The principle of hyperthermia for the treatment of itching and pain is based on a brief heating of the skin to which the nerves respond. Current research suggests that this reduces the transmission of the stimulus. As a result, the itch signal can no longer be properly transmitted and the need to scratch disappears. To achieve this itch-relieving effect on the skin nerves, a short period of heat pain is necessary.

What happens when a mosquito bites?
The itching caused by a mosquito bite is a body reaction to the mosquito's saliva, which is injected during the biting process. Our immune system defends itself against the foreign saliva by releasing histamine. As a result, the blood vessels dilate, the bite swells and begins to itch. By heating the affected skin area with heat it®, various endogenous reactions are induced that can relieve itching and pain.
